FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

  • What is the competition level like at our programs?
The level of competition will inevitably vary from session to session but there is nearly always suitable competition for the varying levels of the players.  Our view is that if the player is keen to improve and grow in their ability to think and play the game then it won’t matter much who you’re competing against.

We also try to ensure that the age ranges are not too wide so that players are at similar stages of physical development.
“The best competition I have is against myself to become better.” - John Wooden (Legendary UCLA Coach)

  • Who is the program designed for?
First, please read the program description carefully for an overview. On the whole, ALL of our programs are designed for players that want to improve and grow in their knowledge and love for the game. If you are not interested in learning the game and getting better then our programs are not for you. If you still are unsure who the program is designed for then please use the contact us page to ask us if the session will be appropriate for you.

  • Will the program be co-ed?
Some of our programs have separate boys and girls divisions. If it does not explicitly state that the genders will be separated then the program is co-ed. However, if numbers and skill level allow then we will try to split players by gender once the program starts.

  • How many players attend each session?
It depends on the program and how much gym space we have access to. Most of our programs tend to fill up and we only admit people from the waiting list into the program if someone withdraws or we get access to more gym space. Our Head Coaches pride themselves on getting to know the names of every player under their care so that is another reason why we limit enrollment. We want to provide the best possible experience for players.

  • Who will be coaching the players?
We are very meticulous with how we staff our programs. Generally speaking, our programs will be staffed by at least one of our Head Coaches. Our Assistant Coaches are made up of university students and senior level high school students. These coaches attend regular training sessions to learn alongside our Head Coaches. All of our Head Coaches have extensive experience caring for and instructing children (of all ages). We ensure that our coaches are consistent in their delivery of our curriculum and are constantly growing in their knowledge of the game. In addition to considerable playing and coaching experience our coaches excel in taking complex skills and concepts and breaking them down into understandable chunks for players of all levels. Our coaches are educators first.

  • Will there be any special outings or swim breaks at your summer camps?
No, there will not be any of these things at our summer camps. We try to be very intentional about every minute campers are with us so we prioritize player development on and off the court. Again, our programs are designed for those that want to improve and grow in their knowledge and love of the game so we limit our programming to basketball-related activities.

  • Do you offer personal (1on1) training?
We do not offer 1on1 training at this time.

  • What should we bring to our first session?
Unless otherwise stated, players are to bring their own basketball to every session with us. We also recommend bringing a water bottle in addition to their indoor/basketball shoes. If you need guidance on what type/size of ball is appropriate for your son/daughter then please let us know as we'd be happy to help you access one. You will also receive an email with details of the program in the days leading up to it starting.

  • Do you allow partial registrations if we cannot attend every day in the program?
Unless otherwise stated, we generally do not accept partial registrations. That being said, depending on enrollment and when you inquire we may be able to offer a drop-in or prorated fee to attend a portion of the program. However, there is no guarantee we can accommodate these requests.

  • I'm not sure if my registration went through - am I registered?
You should receive an automated confirmation of your registration details upon clicking 'submit'. If you don't receive the automated email, first check your junk mail and if you still did not get it then use the contact us page to notify us and we will look into it further.

  • If I would prefer not to pay by credit card can I still reserve a spot for my son/daughter?
Yes, you can use the contact us page on our website to explain your situation and we can arrange for payment by another method (email money transfer, cheque etc).
