HEAD COACH
Right Way is looking for dynamic personalities with a wealth of basketball experience to take on the role of head coach at our reputable clinics. Our head coaches must have a strong background and passion for the basketball basics, skill development and the fundamental movements of young basketball players. Ideal candidates are able to deliver instruction to a variety of skill levels in such a way that the young players can easily understand concepts and expand their physical skills. In addition, promoting the ideals of Right Way is an integral part of our clinics. Resiliency, passion, humility, unity and being the ultimate teammate are at the core of our character development.
Responsibilities as the lead adult in charge of a clinic site, athletes and staff include:
ASSISTANT COACH

Right Way is on the hunt for energetic, engaging, basketball players and young coaches from the Ottawa area to join our basketball family. University or college age is preferred but strong grade 11 and 12 candidates will also be considered. Individuals must be outgoing, enjoy working with youth, possess strong communication skills and have a solid foundation of knowledge in skill building for young players. Assistant coaches are responsible for small group instruction by delivering Right Way curriculum to athletes including specific drill selection and modification based on level of the athletes. Assistant coaches are the ultimate role models and will share their skill, knowledge and passion for basketball using an enthusiastic and supportive approach.
STUDENT ATHLETES (VOLUNTEER)
Younger high school student-athletes have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in an introductory role as a coach and mentor. Being a student-athlete with Right Way Basketball is an easy way for students to fulfill their mandatory high school volunteer hours. Student-athletes engage with athletes and develop positive relationships as role models as well as help set up for and demonstrate drills. Individuals will benefit from the opportunity to develop their skills instructing and communicating with youth and gain confidence in their abilities by supporting others. Many players who start out in this role with Right Way, if dedicated and work hard to improve, become part of our coaching team and have the opportunity gain employment at our various clinics offered throughout the year.

- Provide a high quality basketball experience centred around development of the players’ skills and being the ultimate teammate
- Ensure Right Way Basketball curriculum is delivered in a fun and meaningful way – select specific drills, deliver character development
- With help of Assistant Coaches, complete Right Way Passports and determine award winners
- Maintain safety of all at the camp
